The M9 Minecraft contest

The contest organized by Polymnia Venice ( and promoted by Global Minecraft Mentor Marco Vigelini (www.makercamp.itIntend to focus on issues related to urban redevelopment in the broad sense of the term, inspired by the directives, invites the M9 district that has been in detail with the educational tool. Minecraft and which we will make available as a starting point for your project.

Starting from a common layout, a participant must develop an urban regeneration project, with the aim of creating an ideal, a child-friendly city or urban space.

The winner will be announced in the first week of June. Venice Foundation will provide accommodation for three nights in Venice (Italy) for June, 1 and December, 31 2019. Winner is asked to join Skype on June with the Museum M9.


Project evaluation criteria

Projects will be ranked by a panel of experts. The following criteria are in the assessment:
- Coherence between the project and the development strategies of the 2030 Agenda: energy saving, security, accessibility and environmental sustainability;
- Feasibility of the project: forms, functions, the distribution of different elements and spaces, use of different materials and technologies;
- Sustainability of the elements that make up the outside areas: landscaping, pavements, etc.
